Miguel earned his MFA in Film Production and Screenwriting from Columbia University, Graduate School of the Arts, where he wrote, directed and produced several short films. In fact, Miguel was awarded “Faculty Selects”, the highest honor awarded to budding screenwriters. As a student, Miguel was also awarded a grant through the Columbia Organization of Rising Entrepreneurs and Columbia’s Graduate Business School to start a student run cable company showcasing e-game content, award-winning anime programming and the finest short films from around the world. Miguel was also featured on 4NBC News for his groundbreaking documentary on the rescue efforts of firefighters and police officers on September 11th. After graduating from UConn with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development, Miguel has worked as a Family Counselor, Lobbyist and Men's Health Activist. He is currently working on a television pilot about the LGBTQ+ community and hopes to one day launch an arts school in the South Bronx.
